Ground Pressure — every control

Low-end weight and compression.

11 parameters, generated from the parameter registry and checked against the plug-in on every build — so this page and the software cannot describe different instruments. It says what each control does, not what it sounds like.

Version 0.9.1 · Windows x64 · VST3, CLAP and standalone · offline activation, no account, no telemetry.

Ground Pressure — $17

A bass architecture plug-in for separating, reinforcing and ratio-controlling low-end weight and subsonic pressure. It extracts the bass layer, generates a reinforced sub layer, applies soft saturation and shapes the stereo field, while preserving the original signal at mix. The point is direct control over the relationship between bass and sub — not a bass boost.

Input

Input Gain

Level into the chain. A drive control as much as a level one, because saturation follows.

Range 0 to 2 · default 1 · automatable · inputGain

Used for: pushing the saturator.

Extraction

Bass Weight

Where the extraction corner sits, 100 Hz to 200 Hz.

Range 0 to 1 · default 0.5 · automatable · bassWeight

Used for: kick only, bass glue.

Sub Ratio

Splits the extracted band between the saturated path and the gentler mono-able one.

Range 0 to 1 · default 0.4 · automatable · subRatio

Used for: mono compatibility, weight without grit.

Resonance

Rumble Tail

A two-pole resonator ringing under the source, 30 ms to 1.2 s, tuned below the extraction corner.

Range 0 to 1 · default 0.3 · automatable · rumbleTail

Used for: sub bass sustain, room weight.

Colour

Saturation

tanh drive on the extracted band. The sub path takes half of it.

Range 0 to 1 · default 0.3 · automatable · saturation

Used for: weight by harmonics, audible dirt.

Width

Mono Sub

Collapses the sub path towards mono. The dry signal keeps its width.

Range 0 to 1 · default 0 · automatable · monoSub

Used for: club system safety, vinyl cutting.

Width

Mid/side width on the bass layer only. 0.5 is unity, not 0.

Range 0 to 1 · default 0.5 · automatable · width

Used for: narrow low wide top, exaggerated width.

Dynamics

Impact

Transient emphasis before saturation, so an attack gains harmonics rather than level.

Range 0 to 1 · default 0.3 · automatable · impact

Used for: kick attack, cutting through a mix.

Safety

Limiter

A hard output ceiling. A clamp, not a compressor - no lookahead, no release.

Range 0 to 1 · default 0.9 · automatable · limiter

Used for: guard rail, deliberate squaring.

Output

Mix

Dry/wet. The wet path adds to the full-range input rather than replacing it.

Range 0 to 1 · default 1 · automatable · mix

Used for: parallel weight, subtle support.

Output Gain

Final level, before the limiter - so raising it drives the ceiling harder.

Range 0 to 2 · default 1 · automatable · outputGain

Used for: matching bypass level.

How this page is made

Every parameter above comes from metadata/ground-pressure.yaml, the single definition of this instrument. The build refuses to publish if the C++ registrations, that file and this reference describe different instruments — and it refuses if any declared parameter fails to change the output, because a control that does nothing is the failure that passes every other test.
